We understand that you may have questions and hopefully some of these can be answered here. If you have a question that is not answered, please feel free to contact Online Pet Memorials.
An online pet memorial is a web page that is devoted as a tribute to the life and memory of a cherished pet that has passed away. Through my own discovery, I have found an online memorial a wonderful way to help through the grieving process and to create a lasting keepsake of your pet's memory.
This web site contains various sections of which, Online Pet Memorials is one section. It was created as a free service for people who have loved and lost a pet.
This FREE service allows you to create an online pet memorial as a tribute to your pet which includes photos, memories, tributes and anything else you would like your pet to be remembered by. You can add text, photos, and even audio and video through HTML code from other services such as Youtube. Visitors, friends and family members can contribute their own comments and other parting sentiments to you or about your pet. This is an incredible way to create a lasting and free memorial as a tribute to your pet's life and an opportunity to share with your friends and relatives about how important your pet was to you and your family. It's one step through the grieving process that has helped many.
Yes, the memorial is really free with no strings attached. I understand and have experienced the grief at losing a pet that was dearly loved and have spent money online in his memory not knowing where the money was really going or who it was helping. So I created the Online Pet Memorials as a way to memorialize my pet which has spurred me to make donations to other pet charities in his memory. I would hope this also helps others through their grieving process to post their tributes to their pets and to begin to make a donation to their favorite pet charities as well.
It's very easy, and requires just a few answers on the Add Memorial page. Just answer the required fields on the form and press submit. That's all there is to it! Through the Memorial Login, you can make changes to your memorial at any time.
Your pet memorial will be visible immediately after you answer all the questions on the add memorial form and press submit. You will receive an automatic email that contains the location of your memorial along with important information for safe-keeping. Be sure to add "youns.com" to your email's safe list in order to receive this email otherwise it may end up being in your spam folder.
Anybody visiting your online pet memorial can make a contribution by adding a comment in your pet's guestbook. But only those you give your tribute password to can make comments in your pet's tributes. Only You have access through the Memorial Login to change everything on your pet's memorial including whether to delete guestbook or tribute entries. This is one reason you want your memorial password to be kept secure so that only you have access to your pet's memorial. You will be notified automatically by email whenever someone adds a comment to the memorial either as a tribute or in the guestbook.
Here at Online Pet Memorials, we want your memorial to be visited by all of your friends for years to come. When you create your memorial, an email is automatically sent with the link to your memorial that you can send to your friends and family. This will be your pet's permanent memorial. If you forget your pet's memorial location, you can always find it either through the memorial index or by doing a search. If all else fails, you can always contact us and we will do our best to help you.
There is no limit to the number of memorials you can create.
All of our data is securely stored in a redundant database server in various locations to protect against catastrophic data loss. Daily backups are performed so that the data will not be at risk.
Your memorial can be posted from any country in the world and be seen from anyone in the world.
If you make changes to your memorial, but you can only see your "old" memorial when you view it online, this is because you have "caching" enabled in your web browser. In certain circumstances, this causes your browser to access a temporary "cached" version of your memorial from your hard drive instead of retrieving the latest one from our web server. If you are using Internet Explorer, you should clear your cache by selecting Tools > Internet Options > Temporary Internet Files > Delete Files. If you are using a different web browser, check your browser's documentation for instructions on how to clear the cache.
If you try to add a picture downloaded directly from a digital camera it is likely to be extremely large. You should try to reduce the size of the picture so that the dimensions are about 450 x 300 pixels and save it in "jpg" format. Usually, this will reduce the size from 2 Megabytes to about 60 Kilobytes (about 30 times smaller). If you see "broken" images in your memorial, then this is probably the case in that the picture was too large to upload but the data has entered into the database. You can either login to your memorial and remove the broken image from your Photo Album or you can contact us and we can remove this blank entry for you.
You can upload up to 10 pictures to your Photo Album. This does not include your memorial's main photo.
If you have lost your password, try the "Forgot Password" feature in order to try retrieve your password. If this does not work, contact us with your name and email address along with your pet's memorial ID.
You can add basic HTML into your memorial to make paragraphs or line breaks, bold items or italize text. If you have photos somewhere else on the internet, please only create a hyperlink to that image and do not try to embed it within the memorial text area.
To create paragraphs just add code as in this example: <p>Some text here</p> Your text would go in between the two Paragraph Tags.
For line breaks, just at </ b> after your text as in: This is some text</ b>. You can add several together to create line breaks, as in </ b></ b>.
To bold a word, you can add code: This is <strong>bold text</ strong> here.
To italize a word, you can add code: This is <em>bold text</ em> here.
Remember, if you make a mistake, you can always login to your memorial and recreate any text within your memorial.
We are always looking for ways to improve our site and if you have any suggestions, please contact us and let us know of your ideas.
