The Ricardos give the Mertzes a new twenty-inch television set on the occasion of their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. Ricky's hasty tuning adjustments cause the set to blow up, and Fred retaliates by kicking in the Ricardos' TV tube. A legal battle develops, landing the foursome in court. With Ricky as defense attorney, Lucy describes, in gruesome detail, what happened. Her testimony is like the classic fish story and culminates when Lucy exposes her shapely legs for the judge. When Fred calls Ethel to the witness stand, she tries the same flirtatious ploy until Fred stops her: "What are you trying to do…lose the case for us?" Finally, the judge decides to reenact the drama by dragging in his own TV set from his chambers. By the time the demonstration is completed, the judge's television set is a shambles, too.
