Ricky believes Lucy's show business aspirations have ended now that she has assumed the role of mother, but it's not so. The moment she hears that Ricky is staging a new Indian show at the Tropicana, she - along with the stage-struck Mertzes - wants to be part of it. Lucy reads up on the subject in a book, Blood-Curdling Indian Tales, and is despondent when Ricky hires the Mertzes but not her. Nevertheless, Lucy manages to appear in the "By the Waters of Minnetonka" number by making a special deal with the regular performer, Juanita. But who's caring for Little Ricky? Big Ricky wants to know. Lucy has the infant strapped to her back like a papoose all through the number.
